A log work addition was made to the house 20+ years ago and had not been maintained. The logs showed signs of partial rot in sections, mildew, lichen, and layers of dirt and debris. Sun damage and failed stain was apparent across the home. The cedar siding was tired and dull.
All siding across the house was first power washed to clear the cedar of dirt and silvering from sun exposure. All log work was grinder sanded and followed up with a brushing. The owners opted for “Captures Hazelnut Colour” water-based stain and Cascades clear coat, this was applied with an airless sprayer across the logs and the siding of the entire house.
Upon completion, this house looked and felt like a home, reminiscent of the feeling the owners mother (who built the original log house) had of the home when it was first built.
